Cherry Pickers for Sale in South Africa & Sub-Saharan Africa

“Cherry pickers” is the nickname given to aerial work platforms in the lifting equipment industry. The name goes back to the time when the first cherry picker was invented. A man named Jay Eitel, who worked on a fruit farm in the middle of the 20th century, found that climbing up and down a ladder every day to pick and pack fruit was not only a hassle and a nuisance, but a large waste of time. Time that could be better spent on other activities, or on picking more fruit.

It was out of this necessity that Eitel had, that the cherry picker was invented and manufactured. Today there are several names used to refer to cherry pickers such as mobile elevated work platforms (MEWP’s), aerial work platforms (AWP), sky jacks to name but a few.
